PURPOSE: To rapidly measure the reducibility of a sample by predicting the sample weight at the end point of a reduction test in accordance with the weight of the sample obtd. during the course of the reduction test and estimating the reducibility in accordance with the predicted weight.
CONSTITUTION: The sample 3 is put into a sample container 2 and after the sample is heated in a heating furnace 1, reducing gas CO is incorporated into an atmosphere gas N2 to start the reduction of the sample. A weighing instrument 7 measures the weight of the sample 3 continuously and inputs the measured value of the weight to an A/D converter 8. A data processor 9 makes prescribed computation in accordance with the input data from the A/D converter 8 and predicts the sample weight at the end point of the reduction test during the course of the reduction test. The reducibility is estimated in accordance with the predicted weight. The time required for the analysis is thus shortened.
