PURPOSE: To reduce labor, to obtain safety of an operator, to obtain protection of a lance and to prevent a decrease in a lance operating ratio due to interruption of the operation by providing a heat resistant stationary plate formed with an opening for inserting the lance at the end of a lance guide frame in a lance inserting driver.

CONSTITUTION: A heat resistant stationary plate 3 provided with an insertion opening 4 having a diameter substantially corresponding to the outer diameter of a lance 2 is mounted at the end of a guide frame 1 through a mounting frame 5. If a lump 6 is adhered to the lance, the lance 2 is pulled from a material ore layer periodically or as required, the deposit on the lance is scraped by the plate 3 easily. The plate 3 may be detachably provided at the end of the frame 1 by rotating it via an arm 8 having a rotary shaft 7 at the lower end of the frame. Thus, combustion noise at the end of the lance 2 can be easily cleaned or replacing work can be facilitated.
