Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for efficiently removing the eyeballs of Watasenia scintillans without separating the trunk and arms of boiled Watasenia scintillans and damaging their surface skin.
SOLUTION: The apparatus for removing the eyeballs of Watasenia scintillans includes a treatment tank 5 and a rotating brush 40. In this apparatus, the treatment tank 5 is made up of a tank body 50 with top and bottom openings and a tank bottom 60 openably closing the bottom opening of the tank body 50. This apparatus also includes a mechanism of autorotating the brush 40 and another mechanism 10 of revolving the brush 40. The tank bottom 60 has a double structure comprising an upper bottom plate 62 provided with a number of holes through which the eyeballs of Watasenia scintillans are passed and a lower bottom plate 61 provided with a drain pipe 65 and an on/off valve 66. The eyeballs of Watasenia scintillans are separated by agitating water in the treatment tank 5 by making a revolving motion of the brush 40 in the tank 5 while autorotating itself.
