To provide an apparatus for sensing seating in a seat which does not malfunctions even when a seating position is displaced for working in a slope or for verifying work execution, obstacles, etc. and when the inclination of the seat is increased due to an elastic support in the apparatus for sensing seating for halting an engine in preparation for any contingency when an operator leaves the seat in a passenger traveling vehicle body such as a tractor.

The apparatus for sensing seating is provided with a switch plate 55. The switch plate 55 is in contact with both the bottom surface of the seat 41 elastically supported by a seat mounting frame 9 and a fixed and arranged seat switch 50, moved along the operating direction of the seat switch 50, and elevated to a prescribed location by a return spring 56 in a seated state.
