PURPOSE: To provide always the process of cutting operation for the shortest time even if the width of a cut material is varied.
CONSTITUTION: A stepped shaft 13 vertically slidable and a limit switch 16 are provided on a movable band saw guide 9 of a frame swinging type of a horizontal band sawing machine having the frame inclined by a predetermined angle in the completion of cutting. In the completion of cutting-off a cut material 12, the stepped shaft 13 is pushed up by the upper surface 2a of a base 2 to output a signal of the limit switch 16 at the upper end of the stepped shaft 13 and stop the travelling of the band saw 7 and the descent of the frame 3 by the signal so that the lower limit position of cut suited for the width of the cut material can be always detected.
