PURPOSE: To prevent a paper web from winding on a dryer cylinder by increasing a vacuum produced in a pocket formed by a guide roll and a support belt.

CONSTITUTION: This apparatus is obtained by installing a sealing ledge 31 fixed to a sealing ledge holder 30 in the vicinity of the outer surface of a first dryer cylinder 11 in order to form a vacuum of a pocket 13 produced at the time of operation, providing the holder 30 with an air guide surface 29 curved in the direction toward the bottom of the pocket 13 and forming an ejector nozzle 28 together with the peripheral surface of a second dryer cylinder 12, deflecting a first air flow 21 induced along the first dryer cylinder 11 upward and combining the air flow 21 with a second air flow 22 induced between the guide roll 10 and the second dryer cylinder 12.
