PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for transporting paper sheets or the like, in which there are provided retainer belts, moved at the same speed with carrier belt, so as to transport paper sheets or the like in the manner holding the same therebetween, whereby those sheets having tendency to be folded can be transported smoothly.
