To provide a garbage treating apparatus which allows a plurality of means such as a transferring means to be driven without using a plurality of driving sources and the workability in maintenance of the transferring means or the like is improved.

This garbage treating apparatus 1 is constituted of a solid-liquid separating means 2 for separating hydrous organic waste into solid waste and sewage, a drying means 3 for agitating and drying the separated solid waste, a storage tank 4 for housing the waste dried by means 3 and a sewage treating tank 5 for cleaning the sewage separated from the solid waste by the means 2. A single driving source 6 is shared between the means 2 and 3. The means 2 and the means 3 are indivisually connected through transmitting means 26, 34, 36 so as to be able to drive by the single driving source 6 and they can be disassembled separately from the source 6.
