This treating apparatus for molten metal, is produced with a closing valve 10 for performing the opening/closing of the valve by ascendingly/descendingly driving a valve body 12 attached/detached from/to a valve seat 11 arranged at the upper part of a molten metal flowing passage 3 opened at the bottom part of the storing vessel 1 with a driving unit 13, a gas introducing pipe 20 for blowing the gas into the molten metal by opening the tip part 20a to a prescribed depth position in the storing vessel 1, a gas pressure detector 21 for detecting the gas pressure in this gas introducing pipe and a closing valve control circuit 22 for outputting a closing valve command S to the driving unit 13 for the closing valve 10 when the detected pressure P with the gas pressure detector becomes lower than a prescribed setting pressure P0.
