To provide an apparatus for turning pages of a printer for a bankbook capable of executing the retry of the page turning in a short time by detecting erroneous page turning or others in a stage before the page turning regardless of a bankbook size and a property.
The apparatus has a bankbook conveying path, a bankbook detector arranged on the bankbook conveying path, a set means recording a bankbook fixing position and a threshold according to a detecting size, a page turning mechanism executing the buckling of a target sheet and sheet turning after buckling in the bankbook fixing position, a buckling detector detecting the state of the buckling, a conveying mechanism capable of conveying the bankbook to a commanded position of the conveying path, and a control means driving the conveying mechanism so as to move it to the bankbook fixing position, making the page turning mechanism buckle the sheet, and determining erroneous buckling in the case that the state of the buckling detected the buckling detector does not reach the threshold in a predetermined time, and driving the conveying mechanism so as to move the bankbook to a new fixing position spaced apart by a predetermined control distance from the bankbook fixing position.
