Abstract:
To provide a technique for preventing a trick of theft in which functionality of an on-vehicle communication device is invalidated for stealing, making it difficult to track where the vehicle is located.SOLUTION: An apparatus 50 for preventing theft of a vehicle 10 includes: a communication monitor part 52 for monitoring whether or not functionality of an on-vehicle communication device 24 that is capable of communicating positional information of the vehicle 10 is valid with a communication device 100 external to the vehicle 10; and a process execution part 54 for executing a preset theft prevention process in a case where the communication monitor part 52 detects invalidation of the functionality.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
