To provide an apparatus for visually confirming surrounding of a vehicle, which allows a driver to be able to select a display state of a plurality of imaging ranges displayed on a display device by respecting the intention of the driver with ease of operation entry for the selection of the display state of a plurality of the displayed imaging ranges and allows the driver to easily recognize which imaging range is displayed on the display device.
The apparatus for visually confirming surrounding of a vehicle is provided with; an image pickup device 1 for picking up a plurality of imaging ranges A1 to A6 around the vehicle; a display device 3 for displaying the video image of the image pickup device 1; a touch panel 5; and a control unit 7 for selecting the imaging ranges A1 to A6 displayed on the display device 3 on the basis of various signals such as the touch panel 5 and a shift position signal indicative of a vehicle state. The image pickup device 1 is provided with; a front camera 11, a front left/right camera 13; a rear camera 15; and a rear left/right camera 17.
