To provide a scraping/gathering apparatus capable of surely and smoothly scraping and gathering sand and mud without overloading even if a large amount of sand and mud are present by enabling the scraping/gathering apparatus to scrape and gather sand and mud gradually from their upper layer toward lower layer.
The scraping/gathering apparatus is constituted of a plurality of supports disposed on a center line parallel to the long side of a rectangular treatment pond, a long guide rail fixed on the plurality of supports with its front end disposed on a pit side, a traveling mechanism made movable forward and backward along the guide rail by virtue of its traveling rollers, a driving means for driving the traveling mechanism forward and backward, a rotary shaft disposed on the traveling mechanism in the width direction of the pond and extending to the left and right over the traveling mechanism, a plurality of scraper arms each equipped with a scraper rotatably attached thereto capable of scraping and gathering sand and mud by virtue of its self-weight which scraper arms are rotatably attached to the sections of the rotary shaft extending to the left and right so that they can rotate downward in response to the forward movement of the traveling mechanism and rotate upward in response to the backward movement thereof, and a plurality of following members or sleigh members capable of ascending or descending to follow the upper face of the sand and mud each attached to the scraper arms outside the scraper on their front end.
