Title:
APPEARANCE INSPECTION APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3666108
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an appearance inspection apparatus by which the three- dimensional dislocation of an object to be inspected is corrected and in which an erroneous detection is not generated by extracting a prescribed feature corresponding to a relative angle between an inspection place of the object to be inspected and an image input means.
CONSTITUTION: A robot 1 can move an object 4, to be inspected, to a camera position 21 instructed in advance so as to inspect the object 4, to be inspected, under the control of a robot controller 6. In addition, the robot 1 can move a television camera 2 to a rotational movement direction up to a camera position 22 optimum for an inspection by drawing an arc around the inspection place 42 of the object 4 to be inspected. The camera position 22 is set in such a way that the camera 2 and an illumination device 3 for coaxial illumination are situated in a position perpendicular to the plane of the inspection place 42. Then, the number of brightest pixels corresponding to the specular reflection light component of the device 3 in an image to be input from the camera 2 is used as a feature amount. Thereby, the camera position 22 can be found by searching a position in which the feature becomes maximum.
