Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application current control method by which an optimal current can be applied to a stepping motor, in an image reading apparatus that utilizes the stepping motor for moving a reading section.SOLUTION: The application current control method includes: a first step S320 in which an application current control section moves a reading section (CIS) forward in a scanning direction at a first moving speed; a second step S330 in which the application current control section moves the reading section backward in the scanning direction at a second moving speed lower than the first moving speed; a third step S340 of determining that the reading section is returned to a predetermined position (home position); and fourth steps S350 and S360 of determining an application current to the stepping motor in such a manner that a loss of synchronism does not occur, by iteratively executing the first to third steps while changing the application current to the stepping motor.
