An application method of a resin liquid is carried out by applying the resin liquid for coating housed in a container 2 on the sheet base material 12 while bringing the gravure roll 7 having the groove part on the outer circumferential part into contact with the resin liquid for coating and has a step of rotating the gravure roll 7 while bringing a cleaning part 8 provided in the container 2 into contact with the outer circumferential part of the gravure roll 7 so as to get into the groove part 7a. As the cleaning part 8, one comprising a sponge-like resin material is used.
