PURPOSE: To form a durable sealing layer, in high efficiency, by applying a vulcanized rubber sheet as a waterproofing sheet, applying a primer layer and a mesh sheet to the surface of the joint of the sheet, and coating the joint with a specific acrylic elastic sealant.
CONSTITUTION: The vulcanized rubber sheets 1, 2 composed mainly of an olefin terpolymer consisting of ethylene, an α-olefin and a polyene monomer having non-conjugated double bond, are used as the waterproofing sheet and are applied to the part to be waterproofed. The primer layer 3 and the mesh sheet 4 are applied successively to the surface of the joint or edge of said sheet or its vicinity, and the surface of the applied mesh sheet 4 is coated with an acrylic elastic sealant obtained by adding a polyisocyanate compound and a filler to a low molecular weight acrylic copolymer having nearly one functional group reactive with isocyanate group at the molecular terminal and in the molecule on an average. The sealant is cured to complete the waterproofing procedure.
