PURPOSE: To improve quality of coating by equipping an applicator main body so that a coating gun for spraying coating on a material to be coated which is carried with a conveyor is freely moved in the lengthwise direction thereof and rockingly supporting this applicator main body in the carrier direction of the material to be coated.

CONSTITUTION: An applicator main body 8 is equipped so that a coating gun 9 for spraying coating on a material to be coated which is carried with a conveyor 4 is freely moved in the lengthwise direction thereof. This appricator main body 8 is rockingly supported in the carrier direction 5 of the material. In other words, the relative moving locus of the coating gun 9 for the material to be coated which is carried with the conveyor is regulated so that this locus is made rectangular for the carrier direction of the material. Thereby a uniform film is continuously formed on the material and quality of coating can be improved.
