Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applying device and an applying method, capable of applying a liquid material on a workpiece, even when the liquid material to be applied has high viscosity, or even when the liquid material is discharged in a direction against gravity.SOLUTION: An applying device 10 has a discharge head 32, a syringe 34, and a compressor. The discharge head 32 is formed with a guide hole 38. To the guide hole 38, a supply passage 40 in which a tip end of the syringe 34 is inserted is communicated. A liquid material (for example, an adhesive 20) led out from the syringe 34 temporarily remains at an intersection between the guide hole 38 and the supply passage 40, as liquid drops. Then, the liquid drops are pressed by compression air led in the guide hole 38, and discharged through a discharge port 42 with the compression air.
