To provide an approach system to a buoy of a ship, capable of easily recovering a selected buoy in a plurality of buoys thrown down on the sea.
Data is transmitted and received via a communication satellite 4 between the ship 2 and the selected buoy 1. The selected buoy 1 transmits position data (such as latitude and longitude) to the ship 2 at a preset transmission interval. The ship 2 calculates a distance between the selected buoys 1, a position of the buoys, a speed and a course based on the received data, and displays a position of the ship 2, a moving locus of the elected buoys 1 and a predicted course on a PC. The ship 2 transmits a command for changing a transmission interval of the position data transmitted from the selected buoy 1 in response to a distance between the ship 2 and the selected buoy 1. Thus, as the distance becomes near, the position data is transmitted from the selected buoy 1 at a short transmission interval, and a further accurate buoy position and the predicted course can be specified, and the selected buoy 1 can be easily recovered.
