Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject reagent having excellent selectivity and useful for peptide synthesis or the like comprising an aqueous phase, a specific catalyst and a nucelophilic compound soluble in water, which cleaves unsaturated alkoxycarbonyl functional group and prevents alkylation of a functional group which gives nucleophilicity.
CONSTITUTION: The objective reagent contains nucleophilic compounds such as thiosalicycli acid or the like comprising (A) an aqueous phase, (B) a catalyst comprising at least one element of group VIII in the periodic table of elements which is maintained in the aqueous phase by forming a complex with at least one water-soluble ligand such as pnictine, trialkylphosphine, triarylphosphine or the like and (C) a nucleophilic compound having water-solubility such as thiosalycilic acid or the like.
