To obtain an aqueous black ink composition and to provide a method for inkjet recording.
This aqueous black ink composition comprises a triazine dye represented by general formula (1) (R1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkanoylamino group, an alkoxyalkoxy group, a sulfonic acid group, a carboxy group or a ureido group; R2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; X is chlorine, a hydroxyl group, an alkoxy group, a phenoxyl group (substitutable with a substituent group selected from a sulfonic acid group, a carboxy group, an acetylamino group, an amino group and a hydroxy group), an amino group, an alkylamino group (substitutable with one or more kinds of substituent groups selected from a sulfonic acid group and a carboxy group) or an anilino group (substitutable with one or more kinds of substituent groups selected from a sulfonic acid group and a carboxyl group); M is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, an organic amine cation or an ammonium ion) and a black dye.
