Abstract:
To provide an organic/inorganic composite coating film having high level of physical properties such as water resistance, transparency or abrasion resistance and a method for producing the same, and to provide an aqueous coating composition that can give the coating film having good storage stability.
The aqueous coating composition comprises an aqueous dispersion of a cationic polyurethane resin including the structure unit represented by general formula [I] (wherein R1is an alkylene chain, a residue of divalent phenols or a polyoxyalkylene chain; R2and R3are each an alkyl group; R4is H or a residual group of a quaternarization agent that can be introduced by the quaternarization reaction; X-is an anionic counter ion), a metal alkoxide or its condensation product, and an acid catalyst. The organic/inorganic composite coating film is obtained by using the coating composition.
