Abstract:

To provide an aqueous coating composition having a good metallic gloss similar to that of a conventional coating prepared by using an organic solvent.

The aqueous coating composition comprises a glittering pigment 1 composed of metal flakes obtained by crushing a vapor-deposited metal film, and an aqueous cellulose derivative having an acid value of 20-150 mg-KOH/g (solid content), wherein a main binder resin is the aqueous cellulose derivative and a content of the glittering pigment 1 is 20-70 mass% of PWC.
