To provide an aqueous coating composition inhibiting blocking and back cylinder print of the coating film which are problems in performing aqueous coating work in line after the offset printing on a paper medium as a principal base material in the planography, one of dominant printing systems, and thereby to enable to obtain printed matter and a method for obtaining the printed matter.
By incorporating a crosslinking agent in a water-soluble resin, drying characteristics along with high speed printability required to an inline aqueous coating composition for the offset printing machine are significantly improved. Also adhesivity to offset ink becomes excellent by appropriately controlling the acid value of the water-soluble resin and by properly selecting crosslinking agents and water-soluble resin skeletons having various functional groups and combining them. Further by properly compounding waxes or silicones, the coating composition more excellent in drying characteristics is obtained. Thus printed matter excellent in drying characteristics and physical properties of the coating can be obtained under drying conditions of offset inline coating including many restrictions.
