PURPOSE: To obtian an aq. coating compsn. with excellent low temp. curing characteristics which does not pose such a problem wherein as the curing properties of an aq. coating material for construction is lowered at low temp., curing is under insufficient condition during aging after application of the coating material and running-off and whitening of the coating film occur by rain water.
CONSTITUTION: A carboxylated synthetic resin emulsion, a copolymer resin consisting of an epichlorohydrin adduct monomer, a polyvalent metal oxide and/or hydroxide are incorporated in a specified ratio. As the curing properties of an aq. coating material for construction is improved thereby, it becomes possible to apply an aq. coating material in a cold area, etc., and to prepare vaious coating materials by compounding furthermore various additives, pigments and aggregates into the above constitution.
