Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an aq. dispersion of a fluoropolymer improved in dispersion stability, long-term tight adhesion, weatherability and stain resistance by blending an aq. dispersion of a fluoropolymer with an organosilicon compd.
CONSTITUTION: A fluoro-olefin alone or a fluoro-olefin and a monomer copolymerizable therewith are (co)polymerized to obtain fluoropolymer particles. 100 pts.wt. (in terms of solid content) aq. dispersion contg. 30-60wt.% fluoropolymer particles having an average particle size of 50 to 250nm is blended with 1-20 pts.wt. organosilicon compd. selected from among organosilicon monomers of the formula I (R1 is a nonhydrolyzable group or H; R2 is alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, or H; and a is 0 to 2) and organosilicon oligomers of the formula II or III (B is a surface-active group: and c and e are each 2 to 50).
