PURPOSE: To obtain titled aqueous dispersion excellent in polymerization stability, storage stability, etc., by mixing vinylidene chloride with both a monomer such as an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a monomer such as a monoolefinically unsaturated sulfonic acid and emulsion-polymeizing the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of (A) 94W98wt% vinylidene chloride, (B) 0.1W2.5wt% monomer selected from the group consisting of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, e.g., acrylic acid, maleic acid, a sodium, potassium or a ammonium salt thereof and (meth)acrylamide and (C) 0.1W2wt% monomer selected from the group consisting of a monoolefinically unsaturated sulfonic acid, e.g., vinylsulfonic acid, methylacrylamidopropanesulfonic acid, and a sodium, potassium or ammonium salt thereof is emulsion-polymerized to obtain title aqueous polymer dispersion.
