Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject dispersion capable of forming an excellent coating film by adding a specific amount of a specific compound to an aqueous dispersion composition of a polyurethane incorporated with a specific compound at a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: This aqueous dispersion of polyurethane contains (A) an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane produced by reacting an organic isocyanate, etc., with an active hydrogen-containing compound (e.g. polycarbonate diol), a short- chain diol and acetone, etc., and increasing the molecular weight with a chain extender and (B) a solvent containing 0.5-30wt.% (based on the solid component of the aqueous dispersion) of a glycol ether of the formula [R1 is H or 1-6C alkyl; R2 is H or methyl; R3 is methyl or H (R2 and R3 are different groups); (n) is 1-3]. The aqueous dispersion can be produced by adding 0.5-30wt.% of the glycol ether in order to carry out the removal of the solvent in the presence of the compound of formula. The glycol ether of the formula wherein R1 is alkyl is used as a solvent.
