PURPOSE: The title coating material capable of giving tough films having improved high-temperature characteristics, resistance to water and chemicals, prepared by dispersing a specific reaction product and a blocked isocyanate in water.
CONSTITUTION: (a) 100 parts by wt.(solid content) of a water-dispersed reaction product, obtained by emulsion polymerization of a compound having an unsaturated bond and a carboxylic acid in the molecule, is incorporated with (B) 5W40 parts by wt. (solid content) of an aqueous dispersion obtained by adjusting the pH of an aqueous solution to 7.5 or below at 60W80°C by blowing an inert gas into the solution. The solution is prepared by neutralizing the free carboxylic acids contained in the skeleton of a blocked polyisocyanate, obtained by adding a blocking agent in an amount equivalent to the isocyanate group to a urethane adduct having at least two or more isocyanate groups in one molecule which is prepared by reaction between (a) a compound having two or more hydroxyl groups and carboxylic acids in the molecule and (b) an organic polyisocyanate, with a base.
