Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject enteric coating that contains a specific succinate as the enteric polymer and use ammonia as a neutralizing agent, thus markedly reduces alkali salt residue and can give a good enteric function. CONSTITUTION: This enteric coating solution for solid drugs comprises (A) hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose acetate succinate and (B) ammonia in an amount that more than 80 mol.% of the carboxyl groups in the component (A) can be neutralized. For example, the component A is dispersed in purified water, and 28% aqueous ammonia is added, under slow stirring and the stirring is continued until the solution becomes clear, followed by addition of triethyl citrate and talc and stirring is further continued.
