To obtain an aqueous glazing agent composition for paper capable of forming a coating film excellent in abrasion resistance and gloss by using a halogen free material.
This aqueous glazing agent composition is obtained by mixing following (I) an aqueous resin dispersion, (II) a solution of a water soluble resin and (III) a polyolefin based wax emulsion in a specific ratio. The aqueous resin dispersion (I) is the aqueous dispersion of a polymer (β) obtained by carrying out an emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture containing one or more kinds of vinyl monomers in an aqueous dispersion or aqueous solution of a polymer (α) obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a vinyl monomer having an acidic group, the solution of the water soluble resin (II) contains a polymer (γ) obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a vinyl monomer having an acidic group, and has a specific theoretical acid value of solid content and weight average molecular weight, and the polyolefin based wax emulsion (III) is a dispersion of globular resin particles having a specified melting point and a specified particle diameter.
