Abstract:

To provide an aqueous ink composition for a ballpoint pen which can write extremely lightly and smoothly, and can suppress the thinning upon beginning to write even when the pen top is left open as it is.

The aqueous ink composition for a ballpoint pen contains a colorant, a polysaccharide, a water-soluble organic solvent, water, a phosphoric acid derivative represented by general formula (1) (in the formula, R1 denotes an alkyl group of C18, R2 denotes OX or C18(OCH2CH2)4 and X denotes alkali metal or amine) and a phosphoric acid derivative represented by general formula (2) (in the formula, R3 denotes an alkyl group of C12 to C15, R4 denotes OX or R3(OCH2CH2) and X denotes alkali metal or amine), wherein the weight ratio of the phosphoric acid derivative represented by the general formula (1) to the phosphoric acid derivative represented by the general formula (2) falls into the range of 1/1 to 1/9.
