Title:
AQUEOUS PIGMENT DISPERSION AND WATER-BASED PRINTING INK COMPOSITION USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3933293
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous pigment dispersion capable of increasing the concentration in both a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic pigments and having a high gloss and a bright color and a water-based printing ink composition using the pigment dispersion and good in suitability, etc., for spread on water repellent paper.
SOLUTION: This aqueous pigment dispersion contains an α-olefin-maleic acid-based copolymer containing at least one group represented by the formula; (C2H4O)p(C3H6O)qR1 [R1 is H or a 1-8C alkyl group; (p) and (q) are each an integer of ≥0; [(p)+(q)] is ≥1 and (p) and (q) are further a combination of numbers satisfying conditions so as to provide the amount of the formula with ≤450] in the molecule and having 50-300 mg KOH/g acid value and 1,000-20,000 weight-average molecular weight as a resin for dispersing a pigment in an amount of 5-1,000 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the pigment in the aqueous pigment dispersion prepared by dispersing the pigment in water by using the resin for dispersing the pigment.
