PURPOSE: To provide a smoothness-enhancing agents which improve smoothness without adversely affecting other coating properties such as sag and thickening efficiency or the like.
CONSTITUTION: The said paints are the aqueous protective coating material containing such associative thickeners as those having 10,000 to 300,000 molecular weight and 0.2 to 2.5 wt.% hydrophobic substituents, exhibiting improved smoothness of the coating.
