Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aqueous resin compositions usable in a wide range of applications in various water base paints, and water base inks, adhesives, sealing agents or the like.
SOLUTION: A desired aqueous resin composition comprises (A) a polymerized product to be obtained by copolymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer composition containing (a) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having two carboxyl groups in the molecule and (b) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer having at least one hydroxyl group in the molecule and (B) an onium salt selected from a quaternary ammonium salt and a quaternary phosphonium salt.
