Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an aqueous solution of a polyurethane useful as a binder resin for an aqueous coating agent, having excellent long-term storage stability, adhesiveness, resolubility, lamination suitability by dissolving a specific polyurethane resin in water in the presence of a basic compound.
CONSTITUTION: This aqueous solution of a polyurethane comprises a polyurethane resin obtained by reacting (A) an organic diisocyanate component such as hexamethylene diisocyanate, (B) a polymer diol component containing a constituent unit of formula I and/or formula II (X is CH2, CO or O) in the molecule, (C) a chain extender such as ethylene glycol and optionally (D) a reaction terminator such as n-propylamine and having the constituent unit of formula I and/or formula II, 2,000-200,000 number-average molecular weight and 5--100 acid value and exists in the presence of a basic compound such as triethylamine in a dissolved state or dispersed state in water. The aqueous solution and pigment are used as essential components to give an aqueous printing ink composition.
