Abstract:
To provide an aqueous two-phase separation liquid allowing organic material to be separated efficiently, and an organic material separation method employing the aqueous two-phase separation liquid.SOLUTION: An aqueous solution contains a carboxybetaine represented by general formula (1) and/or an amine N-oxide represented by general formula (2), and a water-soluble salt. The solution has excellent phase separation capability for separation into two phases, and a high partition coefficient of organic material in the carboxybetaine phase after the two-phase separation, and thus is useful in separating and recovering the organic material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
