Title:
ARAMIDE FIBER CORD FOR POWER TRANSMISSION BELT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3187256
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide aramid fiber cords which prevent the aramid fibers exposed to the belt-end surfaces from fraying of filaments and with improved adhesion between the aramide fibers and the matrix and improved in fatigue properties.
CONSTITUTION: Aramide fibers substantially in twistless state are treated with a solution containing an epoxy compound bearing 2 or more epoxy groups, heat-treated at 150-260°C for 30-210 seconds, dried and cured, then twisted in the range of 1≤K≤5(K=(T×D1/2)/2874, K; twisting factor, T; twisting number of times/m, d; denier). The aramide code is impregnated with a treated solution containing a resorcin-formalin-rubber latex(RFL) under vacuum and pressurized conditions, then heat-treated at 150-260°C for 30-210 seconds, and further treated with a treating solution containing the RFL to give the aramide fiber cord for transmission belt.
