Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of an arc extinguishing apparatus and at the same time make the apparatus difficult to be damaged by an arc.
CONSTITUTION: An arc extinguishing apparatus is composed by fixing a magnetic body 13 composed of an arc extinguishing core 14 having a U-shaped horizontal cross-section shape and a substrate 15 extended out of the core horizontally in a U-shaped folded part 6a of a fixed contactor 6 through the substrate 15. A magnetic driving core 16 which can heighten the magnetic driving force against an arc and an arc horn 9 to lead an arc to the arc extinguishing core 14 can be formed unitedly in the substrate 15. As compared with a decorization-type arc extinguishing apparatus in which a plurality of magnetic plates are layered, the arc extinguishing apparatus has a simplified structure and is easy to be manufactured and the arc extinguishing core 14 is hardly damaged since it is scarcely brought into contact with an arc.
