PURPOSE: To ensure the position adjustment of a body under test by adjusting the position of the body under test readily and accurately with a simple constitution, and decreasing the effect of the heat generated by a plasma arc flow for a body-under-test moving device.
CONSTITUTION: This is an arc heating wind-tunnel testing apparatus. A body- under-test moving device 28 is constituted of traverse guide rails 14, which are provided on a supporting stage 13 in a vacuum container, a traverse moving stage 15, which is laterally moved in the direction orthogonal to a plasma arc flow 8 at a right angle with a traverse driving device 19, running guide rails 21, which are provided on the traverse moving stage 15, and a running stage 22, which is moved in the direction along the plasma arc flow 8 with running guide rails 21 and a running driving device 26 provided on the traverse moving stage 15. A body-under-test supporting member 2 is fixed on the running stage 22 of the body-under-test moving device 28. Heat radiating covers 29 and 30, which cover the upper part of the body-under-test moving body 28, are provided.
