PURPOSE: To obtain the reflection factor of an original picture from color separation signals by multiplying individual color separation signals by prescribed coefficients and adding the results to obtain a reflection factor signal.
CONSTITUTION: The original picture signal outputted from a photoelectric scanning part 1 is separated to analog R, G, and B color separation signals by a color separating circuit 2. These analog color separation signals are converted to digital color separation signals R, G, and B by A/D converters 3R, 3G, and 3B respectively. Digital color separation signals R, G, and B and coefficients βR, βG, and βB are multiplied in multipliers 5R, 5G, and 5B respectively, and outputs of multipliers are added by an adder 6, and the reflection factor signal is outputted from the adder 6. This reflection factor can be used as supplementary data of color separation signals in case of picture processing.
