Abstract:

To prevent frictional torque from being fluctuated by synchronization of knurl portions 6a where magnetic strain is produced with permanent magnets 3 where magnetic flux varies when, in the armature core 4 of an electric motor for electric power steering, whirl stop for the armature core 4 against a core shaft 6 is implemented by fitting the knurls 6a formed on the core shaft 6 into grooves 4b formed in the armature core 4.

If there are four permanent magnets 3, the three knurls 6a are formed at equal pitch angles of 120° to prevent the above-mentioned synchronization.
