Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the overheat of the ends of the armature coils of a small size and high power dynamo-electric machine and prolong its operation life.
SOLUTION: An armature is composed of an armature shaft 7 which can rotate freely, an armature core 3 which has a plurality of slots 30 extended in the axial direction and armature coils held by the armature core 3. The armature coils consist of an upper layer coil 1 and a lower layer coil 2 and the axial direction thicknesses T1, T2, T1R and T2R of the respective coil ends 12, 22 12R and 22R of the upper layer coil 1 and the lower layer coil 2 are larger than the respective radial direction thicknesses H1 and H2 of an upper layer coil side 11 and the lower layer coil side 21. As the electrical resistances are reduced to suppress the Joule heat, the heat capacities and heat radiation areas are increased and a blowing effect is improved at the coil end parts 12, 22, 12R and 22R which are easy to be overheated in a conventional constitution, the reliability of a small size and high power dynamo-electric machine can be improved and its operation life can be prolonged.
