To provide an armature for rotary electric machines, which improves the efficiency of a rotary electric machine having a distributed winding structure of drive coil and enables cost reduction.
The armature includes yokes 24 which are arrayed and coupled in its circumferential direction, and a plurality of magnetic pole teeth 21 which have teeth 25 projecting in its radial direction. Each tooth 25 has a tooth base 27 which projects from each yoke 24, a tooth tip 28 which projects radially more than the tip of the end of the tooth base 27, in a specified position that is separated by a specified distance to one side in its circumferential direction from the tooth base 27, and a tooth junction 29 which couples the tooth tip 28 with the tooth base 27. Slots 26 are created by the fellow adjacent tooth tips 28 of magnetic pole teeth 21 adjoining each other on one side in the circumferential direction and the fellow adjacent tooth bases 27 adjoining each other on the other in the circumferential direction. The drive coil 22 is mounted in the slots 26 to surround the tooth base 27 and the tooth tip 28.
