To obtain an aromatic agent capable of deodorizing or masking preferably odors contained in a specific ingredient.
This aromatic agent contains a glycoside, having a compound residue having the aromaticity as a constituent element and capable of producing a compound having the aromaticity by hydrolysis with an enzyme as an active ingredient. The saccharide residue which is the constituent element of the glycoside is preferably a residue of oligosaccharides of monosaccharides and/or di-or polysaccharides and the compound having the aromaticity is preferably an alcoholic aromatic compound (e.g. a monoterpene alcohol). Furthermore, the aromatic agent is contained in clothes such as underwear, diapers or sanitary articles so as to provide 0.001-10wt.% content thereof expressed in terms of the glycoside based on the total amount of the clothes to thereby deodorize or mask unpleasant odors such as perspiration or excretions, etc., or the emission thereof can be informed by the aroma. The hydrolase for the glycoside is a glycosidase and/or an oligoglycosidase.
