Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the subject polymer having excellent heat resistance, flexural rigidity, tensile strength, impact strength, high temperature hydrolysis resistance, etc., and useful for moldings, fibers, etc., by copolymerizing a plurality of unit components in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:(A) 30-80mol% of an aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acid such as para-hydroxybenzoic acid, (B) 1-32mol% of hydroquinone or 4,4'- dihydroxybiphenyl, (C) 1-32mol% of 4,4'-dihydroxybenzophenone and (D) 10-35mol% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid such as terephthalic acid are polycondensed in a B/C molar ratio of 9:1-1:9 to provide the objective copolyester having a melt viscosity of 10<2>-10<7> poises.
