Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a polyimide soluble in organic solvents, excellent in adhesive strength and melt flow stability, and useful for electric and electronic parts, etc., by imidating a polyamic acid obtained by reacting a specific aromatic diamine with a specific tetracarboxylic dianhydride.
CONSTITUTION: An aromatic diamine component consisting mainly of one or more kinds of aromatic diamine compounds of formula I [m, n are 0.1; R is group of formula II (R1-R4 are H, halogen, 1-8C alkyl, aryl, etc.), etc.], such as 3,3'-diamino-4,4'-diphenoxybenzophenone, is reacted with a tetracarboxylic dianhydride of formula III (Ar is tetravalent group), such as pyromellitic dianhydride, and the obtained polyamic acid is thermally or chemically imidated to obtain the objective polyimide of formula IV having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.01-3.0dl/g. The compound of formula I is a new substance, and obtained by reducing an aromatic dinitro compound of formula V.
