PURPOSE: To obtain a new aromatic diurethane compound useful as a chain extender, especially in providing.a highly heat-resistant polyurethaneurea resin and capable of using in producing an aromatic diaminourea compound.
CONSTITUTION: A new aromatic diurethane compound expressed by formula I (R1 to R4 are 1-4C straight-chain or branched alkyl), e.g. N,N'-(methylene-1,4,- diphenulene)bis[N,N-diethylhydroxyamine-urethane] of formula II. This compound of formula I is obtained by reacting 4,4'-diphenylmethanediisocyanate with a N,N-dialkylhydroxyamine compound or a mixture of two or more kinds of N,N-dialkylhydroxyamine compounds corresponding to ≥2 times by mol based on 4,4'-diphenylmethanediisocyanate in the presence or absence of an inert solvent such as tetrahydrofuran or toluene. By using the new aromatic diurethane compound of formula I, the aromatic diaminourea compound can be produced in high purity and yield without exerting any influence on operation environment at the time of exchange of amines.
