Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the title copolymer which is a crystalline thermoplastic resin of excellent heat resistance and composed of two specified kinds of structural units.
CONSTITUTION: 4-Phenoxybiphenyl (A) is mixed with a mixture (B) of isophthaloyl dichloride with 2,6-naphthalenedicarbonyl dichloride in a nitrogen stream in the presence of anhydrous AlCl3 in 1,2-dichloroethane to obtain the title copolymer of an inherent viscosity ≥0.5, comprising 15W40mol% structural units of formula I and 60W80mol% structural units of formula II.
